WildPlaces Africa to open new lodge in Uganda

WildPlaces Africa has announced the opening of Kulu Ora, its newest lodge and seventh addition to the WildPlaces portfolio, in early 2026.

The launch coincides with Uganda Airlines’ new direct international flights from London Gatwick to Entebbe, making access to Uganda’s Murchison Falls National Park more convenient.

Located within a newly designated 75 000 hectare low-impact zone in Murchison Falls National Park, Kulu Ora will share the area only with Papa’s Camp, another WildPlaces property. The secluded setting promises privacy and exclusive wildlife viewing opportunities.

The 11-suite lodge will combine design, cultural heritage and nature connection with each canvas-walled suite featuring timber floors, a private plunge pool and Nile River views. A library curated by WildPlaces Co-Founder Pamela Wright, a large swimming pool and a Nile-facing spa, offering locally made treatments, will add to the experience.

Guests can expect sightings of Uganda’s “Big Seven”, birding and fishing on the Nile, yoga and meditation and night drives.

Constructed with a low-impact ethos, Kulu Ora will operate entirely on solar power and use electric carts for in-lodge transport. The canvas tents are designed to be fully removable and an on-site walled garden will supply produce for the kitchen.

A US$25 conservation levy per bed night will go directly to supporting Murchison Falls conservation and local community projects.

Access to Kulu Ora will be available via daily scheduled flights from Entebbe or Kajjansi to Murchison Falls, private charters or a five-hour scenic drive from Kampala.
