ADR to sell Acsa stake

AEROPORTI di Roma (ADR) is to sell its 20% stake in Airports Company South Africa (Acsa) before the end of the year, according to a Business Report article. It is likely that ADR will sell to an empowerment company; six have reportedly been shortlisted. At Acsa’s financial results presentation last month, Acsa md Monhla Hlahla addressed the issue of ADR saying: “ADR is looking to exercise value, either partially or in full”. Acsa is 74,6% owned by government, 20% owned by ADR, 1,2% owned by staff and 4,2% owned by five empowerment companies. ADR bought its stake in Acsa in 1998 for about R890m when Acsa was valued at R4bn. (Lucy Siebert)
