Africa’s biggest aerospace expo in Gauteng

AFRICA Aerospace and Defense 2004 (ADD 2004), the continent’s biggest civil and military aerospace and defense-related exhibition, will take place at the Waterkloof Air Force Base in Gauteng from September 21 to 25. The exhibition, hosted by Armscor, the Commercial Aviation Association of Southern Africa and the South African Air Force, will feature a range of aerospace and defense-related equipment, services and technologies. Although the SA Air Force will feature prominently, AAD 2004 will also cater for land force as well as maritime technologies, with a total of 350 exhibitors. Niche sectors will be included in the exhibition, covering freight and cargo, search and rescue, humanitarian and disaster management, with related services for both civilian and defense applications. Two public days will be held on September 24 to 25, with a comprehensive flying display by leading air forces as well as commercial and sport aircraft. (Lucy Siebert)
