AIR Seychelles will return to its normal Sunday and Friday Johannesburg-Seychelles service on October 26 after taking delivery of its third B767-205EM this week.
The airline re-scheduled its twice-weekly services between Johannesburg and the Seychelles and one weekly service to Singapore as a result of the suspension of XL Airways.
The introduction of the B767-205EM aircraft will also allow for a two-class configuration with 24 seats in Pearl Class (business class) and 169 seats in economy class.
According to Captain David Savy, Air Seychelles executive chairman, the acquisition of a third B767 aircraft is the national airline’s response toward meeting growing demand due to new properties opening.
He also announced that the airline has signed a letter of intent with the International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC) for a second B767-200 aircraft which is expected to join Air Seychelles’ fleet in January next year.
The airline could not, however, confirm whether or not it will be launching its flights to the Maldives.
