Ravinala Airports management company has revealed significant renovations at Antananarivo’s Ivato Airport, including an expanded terminal, new amenities and more boarding gates.
The domestic terminal’s passenger capacity has increased from 120 to 261 passengers per hour. The waiting area has doubled in size to 760 sqm with 236 seats, compared with 380 sqm and 151 seats previously.
There are now two baggage-screening areas in operation, up from just one previously, and the number of boarding gates has increased from two to four.
The terminal also offers new amenities. These include indoor and outdoor shops, a children’s play area, rest areas, a VIP lounge, a private flight area and a cultural exhibition space.
