&Beyond recently announced that it would not be renewing its management contract at Matetsi Private Game Reserve in Zimbabwe. The handover of the management of the lodge will take effect from June 1.
&Beyond, previously CC Africa, and Rainbow Tourism Group (RTG) established Matetsi Game Lodges 15 years ago and restored the property near the Victoria Falls.
It has been agreed that RTG will take over the reins of all operations at Matetsi, including lodge management and reservations. Travellers holding bookings will have the option of either keeping their booking with RTG from June 1 onwards, or to consult with &Beyond for an alternative destination.
RTG has indicated that it will maintain the rates issued by &Beyond for this year, however it is suggested that all trade partners contact RTG directly for trading terms on all bookings from June 1, and rates for 2012 onwards.
&Beyond CEO, Debbie Meyer, said: “Matetsi is a very special place, and although this lodge will no longer fly the &Beyond banner, we wish Rainbow Tourism Group and the superb Matetsi staff the very best for the future.”
