BIDTRAVEL has expanded its inbound operations by teaming up with Africapass Travel. Africapass, run by Herbie Rosenberg, Janit O’Connor-Pretorius and Renate van den Elzen, will take over the existing BidTravel Rennies Travel Inbound, which will in turn be known as Africapass.
“We see great synergy between BidTravel and Africapass,” says Allan Lunz, BidTravel md. This synergy, says Lunz, sees BidTravel sticking to its core business, with Africapass benefiting from BidTravel’s buying power and offering inbound tourism expertise. “Global Rennies and Carlson Wagonlit TMCs can also use Africapass for their inbound business to South Africa,” explains Lunz.
Having the Rennies brand behind Africapass and the backing of BidTravel is very powerful, says Africapass director, Herbie Rosenberg. “We’re simply tagging Rennies’ existing inbound infrastructure onto Africapass’s expertise, and between us, the three directors have 70 years of inbound experience,” says Rosenberg.
