Cape Town tops for Monopoly

CAPE Town has been awarded a prestigious third for one of the world's most famous board games.

The city came third after Montreal and Riga (and above cities like New York, London and Sydney) in the first World Edition of Monopoly Here and Now. Cape Town was the only South African city, and only one of two African cities, on the voting list.

The campaign was launched in January and voting ended on February 29 and resulted in a number of initiatives and campaigns driven by Media 24, Cape Town Tourism, Facebook, local radio stations and community newspapers.
