Children in the Wilderness goes to Pafuri

WILDERNESS Safaris' Pafuri Camp will host 30 underprivileged children from across South Africa from November 14 to 18 as part of the Children in the Wilderness programme. The kids will take part in a five-day edutainment programme, combining subjects such as nutrition and HIV/Aids education with wildlife viewing, birdwatching and a five-star safari experience. The children, ranging in age from 11 to 15 year-olds, have been selected by the South African Police Service from various shelters in each of the metropolitan centres around South Africa. They will be flown into Johannesburg by kulula.com and transported up to Pafuri Camp, with travel, clothing and meals provided by McDonald’s. “This will be the second Children in the Wilderness camp to be held in South Africa; the camps have been an enormous success in Botswana, Malawi and Namibia over the past four years. We are delighted to have been able to link up with 5FM, the South African Police Service and McDonald's on this initiative and are looking forward to hosting the children at Wilderness Safaris’ new Pafuri Camp,” says Heather Wilson, Children in the Wilderness.
