THE Classic Retreats portfolio has announced the inclusion of three new members: the Islands of Siankaba in Victoria Falls, Zamibia; Lukimbi Safari Lodge in the Kruger National Park and The Livingstone ten day Safari (Botswana and Zambia) from Maun to Victoria Falls or visa versa. The lodge consists of nine luxurious teak and canvas chalets nestling in the tree canopy, connected by a raised walkway and suspension bridge, each with their own private views of the river. Lukimbi Lodge, opening in June 2002, is situated on a 15 000 hectare private concession in the Kruger National Park, the nearest gate being Malelane. The main lodge will consists of 16 thatched suites all with river views. Lukimbi also offers a small exclusive chapel. The Livingstone Safari offers fully serviced classic safaris under canvas in secluded bush camps situated in the famous Botswana Reserves of Moremi and Chobe National Parks. A safari crew travel in a separate vehicle where they erect the comfortable camp prior to the guests' arrival. The group size is limited to eight participants per departure to ensure personalised attention and to maximize comfort. With the three new additions, Classic Retreats' portfolio now consists of 19 members in all. (Miguel de Sousa)
