The four-star Protea Hotel by Marriott Entebbe, located on the shores of Lake Victoria and one kilometre from the airport, is set for refurbishment and expansion.
Managing Director, Stuart Cook, explained: “Having good occupancy levels at the hotel in the past, we have decided to add 13 rooms to meet the demand; this includes one suite. We will also refurbish all the existing bedrooms and corridors, so guests will see the new-look bathrooms, brand-new air-conditioning, and new beds and carpets.”
Work will begin on October 1 and is scheduled for completion by the end of December. Cook said: “We do not anticipate any negative impact on our guests during this period. Work will be confined to the daytime from Monday to Sunday, and any after-hours work necessary will not include noisy activities.”
The hotel will remain open during the 13-week refurbishment.
