Elewana Sand River Camp undergoes refurbishment

Elewana Sand River Camp is getting a new look.

The Elewana Sand River, Masai Mara, is being refurbished. Located on the banks of the Sand River, the lodge is also under new general management.

During the refurbishment, the bar area was upgraded and is now situated on the river bank to allow guests the best view of the migration at the Sand River crossings. The swimming pool has been removed and a new infinity pool will be built later this year.

In the guests’ tents, new decks are being installed in line with environmentally-friendly standards. The shade netting is being upgraded for better insulation, and a colour that blends in more with the surrounding environment. The showers, ‘under the stars’, now lead directly off the main bathrooms which also include a freestanding bathtub.

The Elewana vehicles have also been refurbished in time for the migration.

Chris Wood and Debbie Partridge have recently been appointed as general managers at the camp. The couple has worked in hospitality across southern and eastern Africa, and will oversee the remainder of the renovations.
