Ezemvelo clarifies business review process

EZEMVELO KZN Wildlife is currently conducting a comprehensive business review process, with the aim of accelerating transformation and enhancing service delivery in terms of its statutory mandate. The objectives of the business review process includes the transformation of the executive management, a review of all management and operational structures and a review of the manpower budgets for the core functions and support services structures. According to the organisation, one of the key outcomes of the business review process at Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife will be the integration of core functions (such as conservation, scientific services and conservation partnerships and projects) to improve service delivery. The KwaZulu Natal Nature Conservation Board has adopted and approved the procedures, principles and guidelines for the business review process. "For the last ten years there were nine executive directors, out of which only one was a black male and the rest were white. After the business review process we will be left with five executive directors, needless to mention that this process was not an exercise to cause brain drain but to open the system with a view to enable previously disadvantaged members of our society to be part of Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife,” said MEC of agriculture and environmental affairs, Professor Gabriel Ndabandaba.
