The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway has introduced a short code messaging system that allows for updated information on its operational status and weather conditions.
People can now SMS the keyword, ‘Cableway’, to 42101 for the latest weather conditions, which are updated on an hourly basis (SMS costs R1.50).
The cableway will be closed for annual maintenance from July 23 to August 5 and will reopen on August 6 if weather permits.
The Cableway Visitor Centre will be open during this period and will operate normally, selling Cable Cards and other retail goods.
