It’s a bit of a hassle for us non-mechanical types but it really is important to keep your car properly tuned. The most effective way to make your car more environmentally friendly is to keep it going for as long as possible and the best way to do that is to look after it as best you can.
A real giveaway is if there is more muck coming out of the exhaust than normal. Tuning your car (or getting it tuned by someone who knows what on earth I am talking about) helps it burn fuel more efficiently, which decreases the amount of pollution and CO2 it emits, and more importantly, saves you money. Put a reminder in your calendar once every 3 months or so to get your mechanic to look at the filters, plugs and so on.
