ACCOMMODATION at the former Qwa Qwa Nature Reserve, now part of the Golden Gate Highlands National Park, has undergone upgrading and new accommodation is being built, funded by the department of environmental affairs and tourism. Glen Reenen Rest Camp has been upgraded and extended, from 13 existing units to 31, while Mountain Retreat Rest Camp, opening this month, is a new wooden chalet development which can accommodate 32 people. Plans for the development of the Qwa Qwa Rest Camp, situated at the popular Basotho Cultural Village, are going ahead and the camp is expected to attract international tourists who already visit the village, according to SANParks.
