HOPES of selling Nationwide are beginning to dwindle as “there is not much left to sell”, says Hannes Muller, representative of Tshwane Trust, the company appointed to liquidate the airline.
Muller says currently it doesn’t look as if there will be a sale. He says part of the reason is that all key personnel left in the first two weeks of the airline’s announcing its liquidation. Muller says, however, that there have been various approaches but none look promising at this stage.
Tshwane Trust, he says, was still in the process of finding buyers for Nationwide’s assets, including office furniture and aircraft. But legal advice was being sought regarding the aircraft, as it had to be determined whether they were vested in the company or the lessor.
Muller says passengers are still lodging claims with the airline and it will be at least another six to eight months until a meeting of creditors takes place and anything is paid out.
