THE 20-bedroom lodge and conference centre, Stanford House, near Hermanus in the Western Cape, will be managed and marketed by the management team of the Winchester Mansions Hotel in Cape Town.
"It gives us the possibility to create a mini-route for our guests and allows us to offer career opportunities to our staff in the same company," says Nils Heckscher, managing director of Winchester Mansions Hotel, which took over Stanford on October 1 this year.
Hermanus - famous for its whale watching - is a mere fifteen minutes' drive from the picturesque village of Stanford.
Says Heckscher: "We are very excited about this venture and are confident that the unique atmosphere of this very special village coupled with the hospitality of Stanford House will appeal to many, whether on a conference or just for a relaxing visit."
