"THE pursuit of wellness is seldom high on any business person's list of priorities especially given the fact that busy schedules always take precedence," says Peter Krug of The Hydro at Stellenbosch (also known as the High Rustenburg Health Hydro) in commenting on its new intensive 'execufit' programme, designed to give corporate executives time out to take personal stock of their physical well-being.
The five-day programme operates between Wednesday and Sunday, the whole crux being based on a full medical check-up, the costs involved being in accordance with most companies' medical aid benefits.
There follows an holistic assessment based on nutrition and preventive health care, with individual consultations advising how to make small but meaningful and manageable adjustments to lifestyle in order to live a more balanced and healthy life.
The rates also include daily lectures, massages and hydrotherapy, steam or sauna treatments as well as aquacise and exercise classes.
While most guests have been Capetonians since execufit's launch two months ago, said Krug, negotiations are at an advanced stage with a Gauteng travel agency to operate weekly all-inclusive packages ex Johannesburg beginning early in the new year.
With facilities limited to eight people at any one time, the programme is ideal for incorporating into group corporate functions, and also has the added advantage, advises Krug, of a tax deduction. It is also equally suitable to be included as part of an annual motivational bonus scheme for top performers.
The Hydro, marketed by the Sable Hospitality Marketing Alliance, is a member of the World Organisation of Health Resort Medicine (ISMH) and the International Spa and Fitness Association (INTERSPA).
