IMPORTANT: Travel Now upgrades to reach outbound

TRAVEL Now is once again upgrading its site to a super new platform that will benefit both readers and advertisers. The major changes that you will notice from Thursday 19 April 2001 are: * The name Travel Now is changing to TRAVEL NEWS NOW. * The logo has been changed to red and green (from green, lime and purple). * The NEW web address is: www.travelnewsnow.co.za. * The service is being extended to readers who have an interest in outbound news, such as travel agents. * Faster download time. * The advertising format has been altered to include buttons and larger banners. * News categories have been adapted to concur with the outbound section. * FREE news for all registered users. What this means is that we are offering you a more comprehensive news service accommodating all aspects of the travel trade, that will reach over 4 000 readers daily. In light of this, the new site is incorporating parts of Now Media’s printed publication Travel News Weekly (TNW); hence the name for the new site: Travel News Now (or TNN for short). Although TNW will not cease to exist, having a very important role to still play in the industry, readers of this publication will notice various changes over the next few months. The printed version, TNW, is going to alter its focus, regarding the type of news content it will contain. Travel News Now (TNN) will also be used as the news arm of another Now Media online product, called Travelinfo, and it will incorporate what travel agents previously referred to as ‘News at noon’. In this way Travel Now will increase its readership by 200%. If you were registered on Travel Now, your username and password will remain the same and you will automatically be registered for Travel News Now from tomorrow (19 April 2001). If you would like to change your details or personal profile click on 'Update your info' on the main menu on the left side of the homepage. Advertisers will also have their banners converted with immediate effect to the new version with larger size advertisements. For a sneak preview, check it out today! The site is now located at www.travelnewsnow.co.za. There is no longer a subscription fee to receive news, so all travel trade members (inbound and outbound) are invited to register for FREE. Please forward your comments to tracyk@nowmedia.co.za - feedback is always positive, even if it is critical. Future developments will include a separate version of TNN for inbound and outbound consumers. (Tracy Karpas)
