Statistics South Africa has released the arrival figures for May, which indicate a whopping 40,1% growth for India for that month.
Other source markets have once again shown declines, with key source markets UK and USA both showing significant decreases. Italy also showed positive growth over the period just prior to the Confederations Cup.
The top source markets for May 2009 were:
- UK, down 17,5% from 28 994 to 24 682
- USA, down 17,2% from 26 812 to 22 880
- Germany, down 22,4% from 13 337 to 10 892
- India, up 40,1% from 7 090 to 11 842
- France, down 18,6% from 9 717 to 8 193
- Australia, down 2,6% from 7 199 to 7 016
- The Netherlands, down 3,2% from 5 897 to 5 804
- Italy, up 18,5% from 3 132 to 3 844
- Canada, down 19% from 4 180 to 3 513
- China, down 6,3% from 3 455 to 3 249
