KENYA Airways has announced the increase in services between Nairobi and Bangkok, effective this month, to seven per week. Until now, the carrier only operated 6 flights per week.
This spells out good news for Kenya’s tourism as it will not only increase arrivals from the Far East but also increase capacity for Australian and New Zealand tourists heading into East Africa.
The additional flight will operate on Mondays, departing Bangkok 12h20 and arriving in Nairobi at 17h40.
For Australian clients, Kenya Airways offers fares via Bangkok to Nairobi with partners Qantas, British Airways and Thai International. Fares are also offered via Hong Kong with Qantas and Cathay Pacific as well as via Guangzhou with China Southern.
The added flights will bring relief to increasing demands from the Far East and Australian markets for the destination says Devan Jobanputra, marketing and sales Travel in Style Ltd. Kenya, “The open code-share arrangements announced earlier this year is good news for Kenya’s tourism industry as it seeks to attract visitors from markets other than the traditional UK, Europe and North America. The improved access will also boost trade between the two continents and expand their interests abroad.”
The Australian government agrees. “The new arrangements between Kenya and Australia open the way for Australian travellers to access East Africa and increases the potential for new airlines to serve Australia,” said Anthony Albanese, Minister of infrastructure, transport, regional development and local government Australia.
