Luxury cruise ship to dock at several southern Africa ports

BLACK Watch, the luxury 435-cabin Fred. Olsen cruise ship will make its way from Southampton, England via Walvis Bay, Namibia to arrive in Cape Town on January 26, 2002. It will sail from Cape Town on Monday 28 January, via East London, Durban and Richards Bay to Mombasa, and on to Southampton. A spokesperson for Fred.Olsen said the company had been advised that current tensions in the Middle East region pose no threat to ships transiting the Suez Canal. The original itinerary has however been amended to exclude calls at Port Said and Djibouti. The cancelled ports of call are replaced by a stopover in Zanzibar, Tanzania and two extra days in the Seychelles. (Adéle Mackenzie)
