Mozambique has temporarily suspended its recently announced requirement for travellers from specific visa-exempt countries to submit travel information 48 hours before entering the country.
The National Migration Service (SENAMI) issued a statement confirming that the rule, announced on April 24, has been put on hold with immediate effect due to technical difficulties with the online registration system.
The paused requirement affected citizens of 29 countries listed as visa-exempt. SENAMI said the suspension is necessary to protect user rights while work is conducted to restore and stabilise the system. “Technical constrains have prevented normal access and submission of data,” the authority said in a statement.
The migration authority emphasised that the suspension is temporary. Once the platform is fully functional, the 48-hour pre-registration requirement will be reinstated.
