New appointments at Thebe

THE Thebe Inbound Group is restructuring its divisions and has made the following new appointments: * United Touring Company: Catherine Castel has been appointed to the position of general manager of UTC, effective October 1. Castel is a South African who has been living and working in the UK for the last eight years or so, following a successful career in the travel industry in this country. * Hello Africa: Andrea Fenske has joined the Hello Africa team as gm with effect from September 1. Fenske formerly ran the incentives department at Springbok Atlas for a number of years. * Diane Gurland will play a wider role within the Thebe Inbound Group, and assumed the position of product development manager on September 1. She will be charged with establishing a quality control function for the inbound companies. * Southern Touring Company: Marius van Staden has been appointed gm to work with Calvin and Berdine Johannes. Southern Touring Company was recently awarded the sole rights to operate the tours function for the new Arabella Sheraton Grand Hotel and Van Staden will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the tours desk at the hotel, and in addition, assume direct control of the drivers and guides working for STC.
