Tanzanian eco-luxury lodge operator Laba Laba opened its new 12-room tented camp – Laba Grumeti Art Lodge – last month.
Initially inspired by the sculptures of South African artist Zizipho Poswa, the lodge features 46 pieces of custom-made art from 10 African artists.
Set on a hilltop in the Serengeti ecosystem’s famed Grumeti Game Reserve, the lodge features 11 double tents and one family tent.
Facilities include a spa, infinity pool and restaurant serving mainly organic food.
The lodge is fully powered by solar and battery and game drives take place in refurbished vintage safari vehicles adapted to run on diesel, ethanol and electric fuel.
Activities centre on the Great Migration and walking safaris can be arranged.
