A YOUNG Durban couple have opened a conference centre in South Coast Road to fill a gap for larger venues in the Durban Airport area. Khaya Conference Centre, the brainchild of Mandla & Nunu Mthembu, aims to cater for the needs of especially companies in Jacobs and Prospecton, as well as for people who fly in and need a venue close to Durban Airport. The couple sourced a building in South Coast Road and transformed it into a conference venue able to accommodate up to 300 people. They have also provided employment and training opportunities for young people in the area. Khaya Conference Centre has thus far won a few small government tenders and successfully fulfilled these contracts. (Miguel de Sousa)
