IAN Armstrong has been appointed gm of Irene Country Lodge, situated just outside Pretoria. Armstrong has 12 years experience in the hospitality industry and managed operations for Southern Sun during the World Summit on Sustainable Development in 2002 and the 2003 Cricket World Cup. “Irene Country Lodge is renowned as a superb conference venue. It is centrally located for corporate and leisure visitors to Pretoria and Midrand, has a four-star grading and recently earned a silver grading under the Heritage Programme which aims to make the tourism industry more environmentally conscious.
