Hotel Izulu in Ballito, KZN, has enhanced its eco-initiatives throughout the hotel with new energy monitoring procedures, recycled paper for its stationery and eco-friendly laundry and cleaning products.
Online procedures have been put in place to monitor the daily energy utilisation with a wireless remote meter and moving away from harsh cleaning detergents will lessen the chemicals going into the water system.
The hotel will use energy efficient light bulbs and has installed eco-friendly showerheads. There is an organic herb and vegetable garden and organic produce is served in Gigi’s Brasserie and natural products are used in the spa.
