New open-air restaurant on the cards

THE famous West Coast Strandloper and Muisbosskerm open-air restaurants may soon have a rival closer to Cape Town on Witbanks beach between Kommetjie and Scarborough, where the South Peninsula Municipality is considering a R2m proposal from developers. Located on the main tourist route to Cape Point, locals say it would be a guaranteed money-spinner. It is substantially nearer Cape Town than the established ones which are too far away for a day trip for some. It is also close to a major export-quality crayfish site. A decision is expected in February. (Simon Farrell)
