New SA Tourism chair appointed

CABINET last week approved the appointment of Mr Rick Menell as chairperson of South African Tourism. Rick, formerly vice chairperson, is a prominent figure in the SA mining industry and a member of the Business Trust. He replaces former chair, Saki Macozoma of New Africa Investments, who resigned from his chairmanship last month due to pressure of work commitments. As former head of Transnet, Saki played a crucial role in the controversial appointment of Coleman Andrews. (Mark Gray)
