THE count down has begun for the opening of Chobe Marina Lodge in Kasane, Botswana which is set to welcome its first guests on the 18th of October (Thursday). "The lodge has become a hive of activity with final touches being made,"commented Nick Fairbanks, operations manager for the new Three Cities establishment. "There is a sense of urgency and excitement as the opening day looms". Situated on the banks of the Chobe river, the 66 roomed lodge enjoys more than 500 metres of unspoilt river frontage looking across the Caprivi Strip and towards the Chobe National Park. Thatched accommodation offers all modern comforts such as air-conditioning, ceiling fans, satellite TV, telephones, and mini bars. Chobe Marina Lodge also has two bars, two restaurants and a well-equipped conference centre. (Miguel de Sousa)
