NWPTB to open Durban office

THE North West Parks and Tourism Board (NWPTB) has appointed a project management consultancy company to finalise consultation on the proposed plan to link the Madikwe and Pilanesberg Game Reserves. This according to the ceo of the NWPTB, Charles Ndabeni. He said the process would be completed by the end of March 2004. The corridor will increase the infrastructure investment by government and also facilitate job creation and community empowerment opportunities. Ndabeni also announced that following the opening of the board’s marketing satellite office in Cape Town in July, it was considering opening a second satellite office in Durban soon. Meanwhile, Fundi Ndaba has been appointed as marketing manager with effect from October 1. She takes over from Nolwazi Mdluli who is SA Tourism’s new country manager for the UK. The board will also soon announce the appointment of a new chief operating officer. (Miguel de Sousa)
