PROTEA Hotels has launched its new travel trade initiative called ‘Quest’, the biggest travel trade promotion ever undertaken by the group. The initiative will run on a weekly basis from now until March 2005 and prizes are awarded weekly and monthly, culminating in two fully paid all expenses trips to London for two. “We are thrilled to be launching this trade competition, and expect the industry to respond very positively,” said Danny Bryer, group sales and marketing director. Quest’s main objectives are to create consistent brand awareness and highlight individual properties that will be featured each week. Quest has a ‘Pirate and Treasure Hunt’ theme and each Monday a question is sent to the entire Protea database - the answer to which can only be found in the Protea directory, on the website (www.proteahotels.com) or by asking a member of the sales team. The weekly communication will also announce the regional winners, answer to the last week’s question and prizes, which consist of weekend breaks and meal vouchers from participating properties. In addition to this, a monthly prize will also be awarded. (Lucy Siebert)
