&Beyond has shared a rare daytime sighting from &Beyond Suyian in Kenya’s Suyian Conservancy, capturing a female melanistic leopard interacting with a spotted male.
The video shows the female attempting to draw the male’s attention while he appears more focused on resting. &Beyond described it as “a privileged glimpse of the enchanting dance between a female melanistic leopard and a sleepy, spotted male. Truly remarkable, made even more special during the daytime.”
Melanistic leopards are seldom seen and footage of them alongside a spotted companion in broad daylight is an exceptional occurrence.
