FOLLOWING the completion this week of an audit by the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) it was announced that Avis is "continuing to meet the stringent requirements" of its International Standards Organisation (ISO) 9002 service quality rating. According to managing director, Grahame Cilliers, Avis Rent-A-Car is still the only car rental company in South Africa to hold an ISO listing. Its sister company, Avis Fleet Services, also has an ISO ranking. "It's people who make ISO work. For our customers, the rating is an assurance that our services not only conform to high international standards, but are externally audited on a regular basis." (Adéle Mackenzie)
