Don’t Travel Empty, a UK based company offering a job matching facility for coach and wheels operators, has announced its partnership with SA Coach Charters and Bus Rentals to form Don’t Travel Empty SA.
The facility allows coach operators to secure jobs for any of their empty legs or even parked and non-utilised vehicles on tour.
The new tool now ensures higher profitability with a much greater fleet efficiency.
The operations manager may now decide to rather utilise another operator’s vehicle, then use his own fleet on the more profitable routes or jobs.
“This is not a broking system nor a software product that we promote,” said Fanie Van Zyl, Managing Director of SA Coach Charters.
“Operators subscribe to the system based on their size of fleet, with the highest subscription at R 1 750 per month for a fleet in excess of 15 vehicles. There are no contracts signed and no fine print.”
Other features include a supplier directory - yellow pages of the coach industry, freelance drivers’ database and a free sales channel for coaches.
A few operators have joined already and the major operators have indicated that they will join DTE SA after the Soccer World Cup.
