SANDTON Convention Centre (SCC) has been selected as one of the three finalists for the ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) Best Marketing Award 2002. The other finalists are Quebec City Convention Centre, Canada and Ovation Group in Ireland. The ICCA Best Marketing Award, established in 1997, recognises the excellence and outstanding achievements of organisations in their effort to market their destination or product. Competitors are required to submit entries detailing their overall marketing campaign including measurable results. Each finalist will be given the chance to present their campaign during a plenary session taking place during the 6th ICCA Congress on December 3 in Copenhagen, Denmark. "We are delighted to have been selected as a finalist for such a prestigious international award. Over the past two years the SCC has positioned itself locally and internationally as a premier conference, exhibition and special events venue and has also been a significant player in promoting business tourism to Johannesburg," said Anton Post, deputy executive director of Sandton Convention Centre. The winner will be announced at the ICCA Congress Closing Session on December 4, 2002. (Miguel de Sousa)
