SAT expands visitor call centre services

WITH the 2010 FIFA World Cup upon South Africa, South African Tourism (SAT) has introduced an inventory of destination advice and helpful resources to make visitors’ stay in the country as much fun and as hassle free as possible.

The South African Tourism Call Centre, which up until now has focused on people who call from outside South Africa, now also offers news and information especially for visitors calling from inside South Africa.

Call centre agents can give information on what to do in each of the host cities; on accommodation available; on the football match schedules; on where to find FIFA Fan Fests and other public viewing areas as well as information on transport logistics for getting between the country’s main centres.

The number of call centre agents has been increased from 14 to 55 for the duration of the event.

Agents will be able to answer queries in Spanish, German, Dutch, French, Italian, Portuguese and English. The centre will be able to assist English-speaking callers 24-hours a day, seven days a week. All other callers will be helped from 09h00-21h00 every day for the duration of the World Cup.

The call centre can be reached by dialling +27 87 803 4636 from any telephone.
