THE Mice Club has warned its members to be vigilant during meetings, conventions and conferences as criminals are often disguised as delegates. In its latest electronic newsletter, the Club addressed the fact that several handbags were stolen at the recent World Cooks Tour for Hunger which took place at the Sandton Convention Centre. The SCC’s deputy executive director, Anton Post responded to the club saying: "Security is a priority at SCC and following this particular incident, our executive director was subsequently in contact with the persons who were affected by the incident. SCC takes the security of both guests and their belongings seriously. In addition to security officers on duty throughout the building, CCTV cameras also survey the centre and working staff are randomly searched accordingly.” (Miguel de Sousa)
