Serena Hotels has taken over the operations and management of two new luxury boutique properties in Tanzania.
The properties, Mivumo River Lodge and Selous Wildlife Lodge, are both located within the Selous Game Reserve in Southern Tanzania, one of Africa’s largest game reserves and a proclaimed heritage site.
Mivumo Rive Lodge, expected to open on July 15, consists of 12 superior rooms and three premium luxury suites. Each superior room consists of a bedroom and lounge with a private balcony offering an indoor bathroom outdoor shower and plunge pool. The rooms are spread out along the Rufiji River to ensure privacy and exclusivity.
The lodge also features a main dining area, a lounge, library with river views, a sundeck and swimming pool.
The Selous Wildlife Lodge, a luxury tented camp on the east bank of the Simbazi River, is set to open on August 1. The camp has 12 tents under thatch with adjoining bathrooms.
The lodge has a separate dining area and guest lounge overlooking the natural water-hole, which is lit in the evenings for night viewings. This is all complemented by an outside viewing deck and swimming pool.
