SINGITA Pamushana, situated in the Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve in south eastern Zimbabwe, has re-opened after an extensive refurbishment.
The architecture design was inspired by the Great Zimbabwe Ruins, with dry packed, hand-hewn stone work depicting African symbols and patterns. The curving walls were hand painted in primary colours and polished mud paint, inspired by African huts and the surrounding natural boulders.
The lodge interiors continue the theme of local Zimbabwean culture. Design features include colourfully printed tribal fabrics worn by local women and mosaic patterns inspired by bright African jewellery. Local pots, swords, head rests, shields, baskets, embroidered tapestries, and glass beads further the tribal impact with Shangaan motifs and Shona symbols carved into furniture and lamps.
Singita Pamushana offers six suites with private pools, including a two-bedroom and three-bedroom suite suited to families travelling with children. In addition, there is a villa, which offers indoor and outdoor living areas, a master suite and four other bedrooms.
The lodge also features indoor and open-air dining rooms, three lounges, a spa and two communal heated swimming pools with a Jacuzzi.
