THE success of the Christmas night market in the Cape Town city centre will be repeated in Adderley Street over the long weekend this Easter. Spokesperson Rashieda Muller said that two major informal trading organisations, with an empowerment focus - Station Link and Santa (South African Night Traders Association) - have merged in order to deliver a conducive night trading environment for tourists in Cape Town, starting with the Easter weekend. High on the agenda of the new organisation is to ensure that the Cape Town remains the "city of choice" for international tourists and for this event - called Cape Town After Dark - and many others, to become a permanent feature on the annual calendar. "Visitors to the night market - which will trade from Good Friday to Easter Monday from 17h00 'til late - can expect entertainment of the highest calibre by our locals, quality products and food offered by the approximately 200 exhibitors to satisfy every possible taste."
