The Royal Bafokeng nation, owners of the Royal Bafokeng stadium and the recently launched 68-room sports academy in Phokeng, the base camp for the English team during the World Cup, has developed a home-stay programme to increase accommodation options during and after the tournament.
This programme is supported by the North West Parks and Tourism Board and includes the Bafokeng and greater Rustenburg areas.
Currently there are 459 beds that meet the required criteria set by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa. Training was also conducted through hospitality skills programmes, including SA Host.
