THE Three Cities Group has agreed, with immediate effect, to take over the management of the 15-chalet historic Shortens Country House, situated 30 minutes from Durban along the KwaZulu Natal north coast, adjacent to the Umhlali Country Club and Golf Course.
Keith Bentley, general manager of the Riverside Hotel, will oversee the operations at Shortens, which includes general refurbishments to be completed by February 2001.
Three Cities currently comprises 20 hotels and lodges throughout South Africa and Zimbabwe but newly appointed managing director, Alan Vels says in spite of recent growth, the group intends to "remain medium-sized and focused by hand-picking opportunities in reputed tourism locations".
