Time to update product/service info says WCTB

TOURISM businesses in Cape Town and the Western Cape have until this Friday, February 20 to update information on their product or service. According to the Western Cape Tourism Board (WCTB), information received before this date will be automatically transferred onto a new Tourism eBusiness system. The system is being developed in partnership with the Cape Town Tourism and Events Company as well as local and regional tourism offices to market and promote Cape Town and the Western Cape using the Internet. The first phase will be available from April 2004. “There are no costs involved in having your business listed,” said Bronwen d'Oliveira Tourism eBusiness manager for the Western Cape Tourism Board. “It is one of the benefits of being a paid-up member of your Local Tourism Bureau.” While the new system is being developed, tourism companies’ information will be displayed on the Western Cape (www.capetourism.org) and Cape Town (www.gocapetown.co.za) websites. The information will also automatically be updated at their local tourism office. Tourism Bureaux members who don’t make the February 20 deadline will have to wait for their information to be added to the system manually from March 1 onwards. * Contact Denver at the Western Cape Tourism Board (WCTB) on (021) 483 9181, fax (021) 483 9182 or e-mail: updates@capetourism.org to obtain the requirements or to verify that the WCTB have the most up to date information on your tourism business.
