PRETORIA-based wholesaler, Top Holidays is to launch a specialist corporate division to spearhead its entry into the corporate market.
The new venture, being launched by late 2008, will be called Top Biz and will target inbound corporate travel to South Africa as well as domestic corporate travel within Southern Africa and worldwide.
Top Holidays ceo, Brian Cunningham, explains: “The number of inbound tourists to South Africa from sub-Saharan Africa is far greater than inbound from off the shores of Africa and this market is growing nicely. Although both Southern Sun and Sun International are very strong in this market, we believe there is a gap in it for attractive corporate and business ‘packages’ that offer a lot more than just hotel accommodation and we will, for example, include transfers, city packages, as well as optional ‘shopping and leisure’ packages, restaurants, etc. in our programme.
“The wholesalers will be adding business travel encompassing hotels, city packages, trade fairs, among others, to its wholesale programmes in stages, throughout 2008. This will culminate in the distribution of our 2009/2010 Business Travel Worldwide brochure, jointly branded Top Holidays and Top Biz.”
Featured in the new brochure will be product suited to the corporate market, including city packages, transfers, trade fair packages and tours for partners.
“Rates will not appear in the Business Travel Worldwide brochures but Top Holidays’ website will have a Business Travel Worldwide section featuring the rates as will a special Top Biz website we will be launching,” says Cunningham, adding that programmes in the brochure will be bookable real-time online.
“Top Holidays’ state-of-the-art reservations programme will be the hub that will service several real-time online booking websites being developed to enable clients worldwide to be able to book instantly, real-time online, at applicable markets,” he confirms.
