Tourism for Tomorrow finalists announced

THE World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has announced its shortlist for the 2005 Tourism for Tomorrow Awards. The awards, held last year under the auspices of British Airways, recognise best practice in tourism development all over the world. The finalists, says WTTC, stem from over 90 applications received from 30 countries and represent a range of tourism enterprises. Southern African finalists include: *Conservation award: Namibia’s Damaraland Camp and Mozambique’s Manda Wilderness Project (including Mchenga Nkwichi Lodge), and *Investor in People Award: Cook-up with Kamamma at Dreamcatcher in South Africa. During the next phase of the judging process, each finalist will be visited by a WTTM / Tourism for Tomorrow representative. The winners will be announced during a special ceremony at the Global Travel and Tourism Summit in New Delhi in India on April 8. (Natalia Thomson)
