Tourism Update, ASA enter partnership

Tourism Update has entered into a strategic partnership with ASA, the key trade association representing German tourism to Africa.

There is always an element of adventure in planning a trip to Africa. There are a myriad of possibilities for the German traveller ranging from sophistication in the Cape winelands to desert experiences in Namibia to wildlife on the plains of East Africa. Tourism Update has set itself up to be the eyes and ears on the ground in these destinations, reporting and advising the trade on the changing tourism opportunities and landscape.

“As the most important trade association representing German tourism to Africa, Tourism Update is delighted by this new relationship with ASA,” says Publisher, Dave Marsh.

“We are also more than delighted by this new partnership with Tourism Update,” says Werner Gordes, President of ASA. “Tourism Update is a key information platform that reaches the top level of readership.”

Gordes added that Tourism Update was a great platform to spread important knowledge on the German market to the trade in Africa. He added that bookings to Africa out of Germany were growing, although there was potential to grow them more.

“An analysis by ASA Marketing Consultant, Reinhart Mecklenburg, shows that German long-haul travel still accounts for an unbelievably low 8.1% of total outbound travel. The UK’s long-haul travel proportion is 23% and France’s is 18%.”
