US teachers learning from SA

SIXTEEN teachers from the United States are continuing their whirlwind tour of South Africa after completing their six-day tour of Eastern Cape yesterday. The teachers, ironically called Fullbright 'students' are on a month long tour to South Africa which was initiated by former Presidents of South Africa and the USA, Nelson Mandela and Bill Clinton to further bi-national relations. Their trip - which is being funded by the US Department of Education and administered by the Africa America Institute in Washington DC - will see them exposed to different views on issues such as the economy, employment and land issues. The group has already visited Gauteng, the Eastern Cape and will now move to the Western Cape, KwaZulu Natal and the Kruger National Park. (Miguel de Sousa)
